Season Entry Package and Drivers Orientation

December 2, 2008

F430 Driver Orientation

The 2009 season will be kicked off with a 1 day-orientation (Thursday) at the Homestead Miami Speedway.

Our official series coach who will also accompany the drivers throughout the entire season, will provide for a structured program including

  • Philosophy of Gentleman Racing and the Ferrari Challenge
  • 2009 series rules and regulations
  • Drivers etiquette and successful Racing experience
  • Track side support and data analysis
  • Race car set-up and interaction with Crew

While this orientation will once again be mandatory for all new drivers and those who finished outside the top ten, we strongly recommend participation of all Challenge drivers. This 1-Day orientation will be organized by Ferrari North America and is included in the Season Championship Entry Package.

Through this orientation, we look to embark on a safe and successful 2009 season. If however during the course of the Driver’s Orientation it is determined in the judgment of Grand Am together with the FNA official series coaches that a driver needs additional training, the following can/may be prescribed:

  1. Mandated to use a Grand Am/FNA approved driver coach during a prescribed probationary period. The cost for the coach will be the sole responsibility of the driver.
  2. Mandated to participate in further race training/instruction at a Grand Am / Ferrari North America approved racing school. The cost of this training will be the responsibility of the driver.

If in the sole judgment of Grand Am, a driver is determined not to be well-suited for competition, he may participate in practice sessions however might be restricted from competition in the races until sufficient driving skills are proven.
