It has been brought to our attention that in some instances, Challenge cars have been sold without informing the United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) of the sale. Please note that the Exemption Letter that you received from EPA when you purchased your Challenge car contains the following language:
If you sell this vehicle, you must inform the buyer of this racing exclusion and of the prohibition on registering or licensing the vehicle for street use. You must also inform EPA of the sale and provide us the name and address of the buyer. Because EPA maintains records of racing exclusions granted, failure to update your records with us upon sale of this vehicle could cause difficulties for you if the buyer improperly converts this vehicle for street use.
If at any time you should sell your Challenge Car, please remember to notify EPA of the sale as follows:
UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY NATIONAL VEHICLE AND FUEL EMISSIONS LABORATORY
2565 Plymouth Road Ann Arbor, Michigan 48105-2498 Attention: John La Croix FAX: (734) 214-4869
It would also be very much appreciated if you would also notify FNA of any such sale so that we may update our records. Please contact me at (201) 816-2681 or at mmcneil@ferrariusa.com if you have any questions.
