LIFE TIMING AND SCORING

What is LapTrax?

LapTrax is a web-based application that delivers live timing and scoring data over the Internet. The application will be installed on the FerrariChallenge.com site allowing series participants to follow the on-track action either via a web browser on their laptop computer, or via their wireless phone. LapTrax collects its data directly from the official timing and scoring system at the event - the same date that feeds the scoring monitors at the track - and publishes that data so it is available online.

How Do I Access LapTrax?

The timing and scoring functionality will be integrated into the FerrariChallenge.com website. During events, links will be prominently displayed on the main page of the website giving users quick access to the live timing and scoring application. This means that any computer connected to the Internet will be able to see this information.

However, users will not be required to carry their laptops to the track view LapTrax. The application was built in such a way that it can also be accessed via wireless phones. If you have an iPhone, the application will work right out-of-the-box. All you need to do is navigate to the FerrariChallenge.com site on your phone - while an event is in progress - to see the application.

For those that do not have an iPhone, we recommend you follow the steps below and install the Opera Mini web browser for the best experience:

1. Using your phone's existing web browser, navigate to: operamini.com.
2. Click the link to "Download Opera Mini!"
3. When the application is installed on your phone, we recommend you modify the following settings for "Web Pages":

  1. Load images
  2. Image quality: Medium
  3. Font size: Small

Please note that to fully access the Internet with Opera Mini, a Data Plan from your mobile service provider might be required. Please contact your service provider for more information. The service is not available to Verizon Wireless subscribers (other than BlackBerry users) yet.
